What Do You Need to Make Golden Oreo Blondies?
Every ingredient in these Golden Oreo Blondies has a job to do, making sure they turn out perfectly chewy, rich, and packed with flavour. Here’s why each one is essential:
Golden Oreos – The star of the show! These bring a crunchy, buttery vanilla flavour to every bite, adding texture and a little extra sweetness to the blondies. Can’t find Golden Oreos? Just use the traditional ones! They’ll give a more chocolatey taste to the blondies, but when is chocolate ever a bad thing?
Butter – The base of any good blondie! Melted butter gives these bars a rich, buttery flavour and helps create that classic fudgy texture.
Salt – A small but mighty ingredient. It balances the sweetness and enhances the overall flavour, making every bite taste better.
Brown sugar (light brown sugar or demerara sugar) – Adds moisture, chewiness, and a slight caramel flavour that makes these blondies extra delicious. Brown sugar also helps create a soft, dense texture.
Caster sugar – A finer sugar that helps achieve that slightly crisp, crackly top while adding sweetness and structure to the blondies.
Eggs – The key to binding everything together and giving the blondies structure. They also add richness and help create that classic fudgy consistency.
Vanilla extract – A must for any blondie! It deepens the flavour and enhances the sweetness, making the whole bake taste warm and comforting.
Plain flour – Provides structure without making the blondies too cakey. The right amount keeps them dense, chewy, and soft.
Baking powder – Just a little is needed to give the blondies a slight lift, keeping them from being too heavy while still maintaining that signature fudginess.
White chocolate chips – These add creamy, sweet pockets of chocolate throughout, complementing the golden Oreo flavour perfectly.
With these ingredients, you’ll get thick, chewy, golden blondies loaded with white chocolate and crunchy Oreos – the ultimate treat!

Golden Oreo Blondies
Equipment
- 9 x 11 Inch Baking Tray or Dish (or 10" x 10" Square Cake Tin)
- Greaseproof Paper
- Whisk
Ingredients
- 185 grams unsalted butter ¾ cup (+1 tbsp)
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 500 grams light brown sugar 2 ½ cups (firmly packed)
- 100 grams caster sugar ½ cup
- 3 medium eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 190 grams plain flour 1 ½ cups
- 1.5 teaspoon baking powder
- 125 grams white chocolate chips ¾ cup
- 20 Golden Oreos
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175ºC or 350 º F.
- Prepare a baking dish with baking spray. You can also use a baking tray, lined with greaseproof paper. Don't worry if the size differs slightly – you can use a 10" x 10" cake tin.
- In a stand mixer or large bowl, blend the butter until softened.
- Add the brown sugar and white sugar and mix until combined.
- In a separate jug, crack the eggs and then add to the mix. Add the vanilla and blend together again.
- Add the flour and baking powder and mix until combined.
- Fold in the white chocolate chips.
- Pour the blondie batter into the prepared baking dish or baking tray and arrange the Golden Oreos throughout the batter.
- Put in the oven and bake them for 35 minutes (33 for more fudgy blondies). The skewer test won't work with these blondies – they will seem uncooked when you take them out of the oven but will firm up as they cool down.
- Let them cool in the baking tin or baking dish and then cut the blondies. Enjoy with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee!
How to Store Blondies
The best way to store blondies is in an air tight container at room temperature. The blondies will stay fresh for about 1 week but if your house is anything like mine, they won’t last that long because they are delicious!
